Client Case Study Kristen Good - When I Grow Up

Client Case Study Kristen Good - When I Grow Up Um, do you know that Ive coached hundreds of women since I started offering dream career guidance in 2008? And that these women are freakin rock stars, leaving soul-sucking jobs and traveling the world and launching creative, grown-up businesses and simply doing work that fits their lifestyle goals? Well ya do now and youll hear their stories firsthand in my  Client Case Studies series!  Kristen Good and I started  working  together in early 2011 (we were such wee babes then!), and its been thrilling to see her get married, launch her coaching biz, and have a baby! Read more about her career journey below. Why did you decide to work with a creative career coach? I decided to work with a career coach because I felt lost. I knew I wasn’t happy in at my job but I had no idea how to make it better or what else I wanted to do. What were you doing work-wise when we started our sessions? I was working as a graphic designer for a toy company. What was your biggest takeaway from our work together? There were so many its hard to pick but my biggest take aways were finding myself again through our sessions and a huge shift in how I saw my journey forward. I wasn’t stuck, I was standing at the beginning of an exciting new path that I got to fully consciously choose. Was there anything else you tried to do as a career between the time we stopped our sessions and what you do for work now? If so, how did it inform your current career? It took me some time to find my next career even after our sessions. I needed time to work through all my ideas on what I wanted to do. So I did little projects and a lot of self discovery until I finally found something that really clicked! I realized that I wanted to become a coach myself! I love the process of self discovery and wanted to help others the way Michelle helped me! So I got certified as a coach and started my own coaching practice. I still work part-time as a graphic designer while I build my practice. Everything I’ve learned while becoming a coach helps my design and my life in so many ways. I see patterns in design, with clients, and with people in general and it helps me get better results from all of them having a coaching background. What would you tell someone now that was in your shoes when we first started working together?  Whats your best tip to allow them to make a grown-up living doing what they love? Don’t look at the mountain, just look at the tiny step in front of you. I think its few of us who can make the leap to a new career in one step.(no matter how bad you want it to happen that fast!) It takes time, dont rush the process. You will learn amazing things about yourself along the way! Whats on the horizon for your  business? I have a coaching biz called Follow Your Arrow where I help creative women get unstuck in career and life. Im currently on hiatus because I’m getting use to being a new mom but I’m working on some new coaching programs and offerings behind the scenes! Ready to change careers like Kristen? Join me for this free, live webinar on Thursday!
